Social Studies Department Chair David Sherrin receives Robert H. Jackson Center National Award for teaching Justice

David Sherrin, Chair of our Social Studies Department, has been named┬árecipient of the 2014 Robert H. Jackson Center National Award for Teaching Justice, which “honors an educator who teaches the concept of justice in creative, inspiring ways, which may include teaching about civil liberties, human rights, international humanitarian law, the Holocaust, genocide studies, or local issues of justice.”


David receiving the award at the National Conference of Social Studies, presented by civil rights activist Karen Korematsu, the daughter of Fred who won the landmark Constitutional case against the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII.
